    Delve into the world of intricate motifs and soothing colours. Aparna Jaishankar will be in conversation with Nidhi Bala of Tanzeb. Learn how each piece of garment goes through atleast five karigars to create a kurta. See how traditional artisans are adapting to contemporary requirements. Apart from exploring Nidhi Bala’s private collection, Tanzeb’s unique pieces will be on display and sale. But beyond the fabric and stitches, it’s the stories of the artisans—their craft, legacy, and resilience—that will truly enchant you.

    About the Saree Connoisseur:

    Nidhi was born and brought up in the city of Lucknow with Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb. Having a double masters, she had a few years working in a corporate and startup before venturing into her social entrepreneurship. She had done her onground research work in the Chikankari craft with an NGO in Lucknow.  Now based in Bangalore for the past 21 years after her marriage, she runs her own Indian cultural brand 'Tanzeb' trying to revive the art with her artisan team based in Lucknow.

    About the Storyteller:

    Aparna Jaishankar is a Storyteller, Educator and Corporate Trainer.

    Aparna’s passion lies in exploring Indic Mythology with a contemporary lens. She enjoys the various versions of these stories found in the nooks and crannies of the Indian subcontinent in the form of songs, theatre, dance, weaving, rituals and practices. She incorporates these rich sources in her Storytelling performances.
