This hands-on interactive workshop will introduce a new way for children to engage with historical art. Prior knowledge of facts will take a backseat and skills like first-hand observation, description and imagination will come to the forefront. Children will look at high-resolution visuals of sculptures and architecture from Mamallapuram, work on simple observation exercises, and engage in open discussion to make meaning of this astounding art.
While the workshop will be based on Ashwin Prabhu's new book for children, "Sculpted Stones - Mysteries of Mamallapuram", the methods explored can be used in any heritage site across the country. 10+
