What does it mean to be a genius? Is it how much knowledge you have? It cannot be, because that's just information stored in your memory. Is it how creative you can be? Not true, because that's just imagination. Everything else that makes you smart, is just your ability for logic and reasoning.

So, what's a genius?

We think genius is when you can make the connection between them all. Just like the muscles in your body, your memory, imagination, and reasoning, are all abilities that get stronger with use. Imagine using them all together. To create something new with the things you already have, and to solve the problems that you can identify, is what we call a genius.

The world is changing fast, and so are the problems we face. We're going to need more geniuses now than ever before, to see the world around us and fix it like a project. We wrote the book 'Born Genius' to bridge the gap between study and play, memory and imagination.

Here's a one-of-a-kind workshop to try some of the arty-crafty activities within the book, brainstorm ideas, and take the first step to unlock the genius within young minds.

Activities for the evening:

1. An ice-breaker art activity to get the creative juices flowing
2. A brainstorming activity where we use prompts to come up with creative solutions for very real problems. We draw out a roadmap for the execution of this project, Shark Tank-style, where we quiz each other on how it all works. (Throughout this, we will be guided by a genie called Google, which has all the answers if you know to ask the right questions!)
3. A storytelling session, followed by a little activity from the book 'Born Genius'

At the end of the session, participants will go back with the initial sketches of a passion project they can pursue later and a new perspective on learning and creativity.

Art materials are provided at the workshop. Participants are welcome to carry a notebook of their choice, some basic stationery, and a head full of ideas that they can develop into a project at the workshop.
